If you are a Health & Safety professional with 3+ years of experience in the FMCG industry looking for a new challenge, today is your lucky day!
My client, a leading food manufacturing company in Ireland is looking for a Health & Safety Manager for one of their facilities located in Co. Cavan.
In this role, you will report into the Site Manager and you will be responsible for the development and implementation of Health and Safety management systems within the site and for ensuring that advice and support is available for all Business Unit Managers. You will also manage a team of 2.
This is a permanent (full-time) job based in Co. Cavan.
What will you do in this job?
- You will be responsible for the ongoing development and implementation of improved Health and Safety practices, policies and procedures on the site.
- You will develop and budget with the Site Manager effective Training policies for implementation on the site.
- You will facilitate, support and advise the Site Risk Management teams. You will chair the Site Safety meetings to update all business unit managers on developments at site level.
- You will ensure all personnel are fully safety trained and competent for the role.
- You will review Risk Assessments on a regular basis.
- You will implement Internal Audit processes at site level and measure performance and action planning.
- You will enforce policy by identifying breaches and reporting to the Site Manager and the Group Health and Safety Manager.
- You will liaise with HSA and other outside agencies in relation to H&S matters including reporting, auditing and ensuring recommendations and guidelines are fully complied with.
- You will be responsible for accident and incident report on the Effective Solutions system including ensuring that any relevant corrective actions are completed and recorded.
What do you need to be successful in this job?
- You have a qualification in Health and Safety.
- You have 3+ years of experience in Health and Safety ideally in food and / or manufacturing environments.
- You have strong communication and well-developed interpersonal skills.
- You are organised, energetic and self-motivated.
- Strong IT skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office, Excel, Power Point and other common software tools.
- If you have experience in a Training environment that would be amazing but it is not a deal breaker if you don't.
