Junior Buyer
Location: Naas, Co. Kildare
Contract: Permanent
Salary: €30,000 per annum (approx.)
Overview
An exciting opportunity for a Junior Buyer to support procurement activities across ingredients and packaging. This role focuses on ensuring materials are sourced efficiently, cost-effectively, and in line with business and regulatory requirements, while supporting new product development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Source ingredients and packaging materials from approved suppliers
- Support sourcing of new raw materials for product development projects within set timelines
- Maintain raw material trackers and workflows, ensuring compliance with internal standards, customer requirements, and EU legislation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including NPD and Supply Chain to support project success
- Identify and mitigate supply risks to ensure continuity of supply
- Assist in cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Monitor supplier performance and lead times, implementing improvements where necessary
- Review forecasts and contracts, securing additional materials as required
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and KPIs
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar procurement/buying role (food industry preferred)
- Experience in FMCG environment is advantageous
- Degree in Business or related discipline desirable
- Proven experience in sourcing and supplier management
- Strong negotiation, planning, and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail with strong organisational ability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to change
- Customer-focused with a proactive and responsive approach
