Shift Manager (24/7 and 24/5 shifts)

Location: Cork (Onsite)
Contract Duration: Permanent
Reports To: Assistant Production Manager

Package

  • Salary up to €55,000
  • 33% shift allowance
  • 5% annual performance-related bonus
  • Pension scheme (employer contribution up to 8%, matched against employee contribution)

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a shift team including operators, maintenance technicians, and quality personnel
  • Drive a strong culture of safety, quality, and compliance across all operations
  • Ensure adherence to food safety, hygiene, and GMP standards
  • Deliver on production KPIs and operational targets
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Maintenance, Quality, H&S, and Supply Chain
  • Support and implement continuous improvement initiatives
  • Oversee training and development plans to build team capability
  • Ensure accurate completion of documentation and production records
  • Investigate and resolve issues, including complaints and deviations
  • Monitor shift performance through regular team huddles and follow-up actions
  • Manage shift-related administrative tasks, including payroll hours

Requirements

  • 5-7 years' experience in a production or manufacturing environment
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams in a shift-based setting
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement solutions
  • Experience working in regulated environments with a focus on quality and compliance
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence teams
  • Ability to manage change effectively and drive team performance
  • Flexible to work rotating 24/7 or 24/5 shift patterns

Shift Pattern

  • 2 weeks of day shifts (12-hour shifts starting at 6am)
  • Followed by 2 weeks of night shifts (12-hour shifts starting at 6pm)
  • Rotating pattern:
    • Week 1: Mon, Tues (on) | Wed, Thurs (off) | Fri-Sun (on)
    • Week 2: Mon, Tues (off) | Wed, Thurs (on) | Fri-Sun (off)
