Job Description: R&D Project Lead

Location: Kildare

Position: R&D Project Lead

Overview: Our client are seeking a dedicated and proactive R&D Project Lead to join their team in Kildare. In this role, you will lead projects from concept to launch, driving innovation across a wide range of products for the B2B market. This position is site-based and will suit someone with 2-3 years of experience who is ready to take the next step in their career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage R&D projects from ideation to product launch, ensuring alignment with company goals and market demands.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, production, and quality assurance, to deliver innovative products.
  • Conduct research and stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and competitive products to identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Oversee product testing, formulation, and quality control processes to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain project timelines, budgets, and documentation.
  • Mentor and guide the junior team member reporting to you, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
  • Liaise with clients and customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to sales and marketing teams as needed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in food science, food technology, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in R&D or product development within the food industry.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety and quality standards (e.g. HACCP, ISO).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a keen eye for detail.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
