With the advent of free hot school meals, My Client is pioneering an initiative that promises to shape the future, ensuring every child has access to a healthy and diverse lunch daily, free from the limitations of cost and food waste.

About the Role:

This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and driven individual to join My Client's team as a Food Scientist. The ideal candidate will possess over 3 years of food production management experience, have robust project management capabilities, and demonstrate an aptitude for coaching and motivating staff.

Working in a high-energy, fast-paced environment, the Production Manager will need to exhibit exceptional communication skills and a strong commitment to teamwork.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Production Oversight: Ensure the timely production of meals, maintaining high performance and quality standards.
  • Deadline Management: Monitor and manage production activities to meet set deadlines.
  • Problem Resolution: Address issues related to inventory and production systems.
  • Team Leadership: Support the line management, development, and motivation of evening shift Production Operatives.
  • Performance Accountability: Take responsibility for meeting production targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) during shifts, fostering continuous improvement.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Miscellaneous Duties: Undertake any reasonable tasks or duties as required.

Job Requirements:

  • 3+ years of supervisory or managerial experience in the food production industry.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • A positive, resilient, and flexible attitude.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Health & Safety policies.
  • HACCP training.
  • Excellent multitasking and task prioritization abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high-quality school meals.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Availability to work evening shifts from 3 PM to 12 AM, Saturday to Wednesday (late August to June).

Shift Schedule:

  • Late August to June: Evening shift, Saturday to Wednesday, from 3 PM to 12 AM.
  • Late June to Late August: Day shift, Monday to Friday, regular daytime hours.
