Job Title: Head of Research & Development

Location: Ireland (remote)

Company Overview: Our client are a leading global Dairy organisation committed to innovation and excellence in the consumer goods industry. With a strong focus on quality and sustainability, they strive to create products that enhance the lives of consumers worldwide. As they continue to expand the operations, they are now seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Research & Development to lead the growing global R&D team.

Position Overview: Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, the Head of Research & Development will spearhead the R&D initiatives, driving innovation and product development across our portfolio. This pivotal role will involve managing a team of 7 talented professionals and collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge solutions to market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a team of R&D professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Develop and execute a strategic roadmap for product innovation, aligning with business goals and market trends.
  • Oversee all stages of the product development lifecycle, from conceptualisation to commercialisation, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the R&D team, promoting creativity and collaboration.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including Marketing, Supply Chain, and Regulatory Affairs, to drive cross-functional projects and ensure alignment with company objectives.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements, incorporating relevant insights into R&D strategies.
  • Manage departmental budget and resources effectively, optimizing productivity and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience (minimum 8 years) in research and development within the Dairy industry, with a focus on infant formula
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate teams towards achieving shared goals.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of driving innovation and bringing products to market.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required by business needs.

Note: This position offers the flexibility of remote work, with occasional travel required to collaborate with team members and stakeholders. Candidates with relevant experience in infant formula/dairy product development will be given priority consideration.
