Position: Maintenance Technician
Location: Naas, Co. Kildare
Contract Duration: Permanent
Salary: €48,000 - €57,000 DOE
Every minute a machine stops costs production -we need an Engineering Technician who thrives on keeping a busy food plant running flawlessly
Role Overview
Provide planned and reactive maintenance support across production and site facilities as part of a multi-disciplined engineering team, ensuring safe, efficient operation and maximum equipment uptime.
Key Responsibilities
- Planned and reactive maintenance across site
- Installation, commissioning and troubleshooting of plant & equipment
- PLC fault finding (Allen Bradley, Siemens, GE, Schneider)
- Execute preventive maintenance programmes
- Maximise uptime and minimise production downtime
- Technical support for utilities (compressed air, refrigeration, HVAC)
- Adhere to all Health, Safety, Quality and Food Safety standards (BRC / ISO)
- Use CMMS to manage maintenance activities
- Support production teams, shift cover, call-outs and overtime
- Oversee contractors and liaise with equipment suppliers
Requirements
- Primary Electrical qualification (mechanical experience an advantage)
- Minimum 3 years' maintenance experience (planned & reactive)
- PLC / control systems experience
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of LOTO, risk assessments and permit-to-work systems
- Flexible, reliable and a strong team player
Working Pattern
- Shift Pattern: Days & Nights
- Hours: 6:00 - 6:00
- Shift Allowance: 30%
- On-call: Required
