Sustainability Lead | Food Manufacturing | Naas, Co. Kildare

I'm representing a leading Irish food manufacturer that is hiring a Sustainability Lead to drive their sustainability strategy and initiatives across the business.

This is an opportunity to own and deliver the company's sustainability agenda - working cross-functionally with teams in R&D, NPD, Marketing, and Operations to deliver meaningful environmental and community impact.

The Role

As Sustainability Lead, you'll be responsible for leading the company's sustainability programmes, ensuring compliance with key standards, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement. You'll collaborate closely with senior leadership and external stakeholders to ensure measurable progress toward sustainability targets.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of the company's sustainability strategy and goals

  • Manage the Sustainability Working Group and department champions

  • Oversee Origin Green commitments and Bord Bia reporting

  • Manage Repak returns and support ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 compliance

  • Analyse sustainability data and implement measurable improvement projects

  • Partner with customers and external bodies to advance sustainability goals

  • Introduce biodiversity and environmental initiatives across the site

  • Support marketing and PR teams in communicating sustainability achievements

About You

  • Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or Technical discipline (or equivalent experience)

  • 2+ years' experience in a sustainability-related role, ideally within food manufacturing

  • Strong project management and reporting skills

  • Experience with ISO standards, Origin Green, or Repak is highly desirable

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Self-starter with a proactive, data-driven approach

Why Apply

You'll be joining a business that genuinely values sustainability, with the autonomy to shape and lead initiatives that make a real impact. This is ideal for someone ready to step up from a coordinator or officer role into a visible leadership position.
