Sustainability Lead | Food Manufacturing | Naas, Co. Kildare
I'm representing a leading Irish food manufacturer that is hiring a Sustainability Lead to drive their sustainability strategy and initiatives across the business.
This is an opportunity to own and deliver the company's sustainability agenda - working cross-functionally with teams in R&D, NPD, Marketing, and Operations to deliver meaningful environmental and community impact.
The Role
As Sustainability Lead, you'll be responsible for leading the company's sustainability programmes, ensuring compliance with key standards, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement. You'll collaborate closely with senior leadership and external stakeholders to ensure measurable progress toward sustainability targets.
Key responsibilities
Lead delivery of the company's sustainability strategy and goals
Manage the Sustainability Working Group and department champions
Oversee Origin Green commitments and Bord Bia reporting
Manage Repak returns and support ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 compliance
Analyse sustainability data and implement measurable improvement projects
Partner with customers and external bodies to advance sustainability goals
Introduce biodiversity and environmental initiatives across the site
Support marketing and PR teams in communicating sustainability achievements
About You
Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, or Technical discipline (or equivalent experience)
2+ years' experience in a sustainability-related role, ideally within food manufacturing
Strong project management and reporting skills
Experience with ISO standards, Origin Green, or Repak is highly desirable
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Self-starter with a proactive, data-driven approach
