I am currently working with a leading company in the food manufacturing industry operating internationally who is looking for a Value Engineering Assistant who will report into the Value Engineering Manager and will play a key role in the company's strategy to control costs and ensure the business operates efficiently.
 
This is a permanent (full-time) job based in Co. Westmeath.
 
What will you do in this job?
 
  • You will identify alternative ingredients that deliver cost benefits to the business.
 
  • You will be responsible for formulating and trialing of new ingredients in pilot plant and factory.
 
 
  • You will contribute to the optimization of existing recipes and processes.
 
  • You will maximize the use of the most cost effective materials ensuring the product quality is not compromised from nutritional, palatability and legal perspective.
 
 
  • You will be responsible for management of cost to serve projects with key customers.
 
  • You will provide support to the R&D team on NPD and you will be involved in the completion of trial report.
 
What do you need to be successful in this job?
 
 
  • You have a 3rd level qualification in Food/Animal Science or equivalent.
 
  • You have up to 1 year of NPD/Food Production experience in a manufacturing facility.
 
  • You have great organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.
