Job Description: Commodity Trader- Grains
Location: Dublin (Hybrid)

Position Overview: Our client are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Grain Commodity Trader to join our dynamic team. As a Grain Commodity Trader, you will be responsible for executing trades in the grain markets, managing risk, and maximizing profitability. You will closely monitor market conditions, analyze data, and make informed decisions to capitalize on market opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Agri trading and strong analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Execute trades in the grain markets, including buying and selling grain commodities such as wheat, corn, soybeans, and other grains. Monitor market trends, analyze market data, and make timely trading decisions to maximize profitability.
  • Building on existing customer & supplier relationships in addition to developing new customers & suppliers accounts
  • Working closely with the logistics team to ensure customers always have access to product as they require.
  • Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data and market reports to evaluate the financial performance of grain commodities and assess their value. Utilize quantitative models and statistical tools to forecast market trends and inform trading decisions.
  • Working closely with our quality team to always ensure full compliance with each product's quality requirements.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. Stay informed about relevant laws, regulations, and compliance standards governing grain trading activities.
  • Performance Tracking: Track and evaluate the performance of trading strategies and individual trades. Generate reports and present findings to management, highlighting key performance indicators, risk metrics, and profitability measures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Agriculture, or a related field. Advanced degrees or relevant certifications (e.g., CFA) are a plus.
  • Proven experience as a commodity trading role would be a distinct advantage
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to analyze complex data, perform financial modeling, and make informed trading decisions.
  • Knowledge of trading platforms, market data analysis tools, and risk management software is a distinct advantage
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and make quick decisions.
