Job Title: NPD Chef (New Product Development Chef)
Reports To: Head of Product Development
The NPD Chef will be responsible for developing new food products that meet the company's strategic goals and customer needs. The role requires a creative and innovative approach to food development and a deep understanding of current food trends.
Develop new food products that meet the company's strategic goals and customer needs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, and operations to develop and launch new products.
Conduct market research and analysis to identify new food trends and opportunities.
Create and modify recipes based on product development goals and specifications.
Manage the recipe testing process to ensure product consistency and quality.
Ensure that new products meet all regulatory requirements and guidelines.
Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of ingredients.
Train and mentor junior chefs and other team members on product development processes.
Attend trade shows, industry events, and other relevant gatherings to stay up-to-date on food trends and market developments.
Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Food Science, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in product development, preferably in the food industry.
Strong understanding of food science and technology, as well as food safety and quality standards.
Knowledge of current food trends and market developments.
Excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Willingness to travel as needed.
The salary for this position will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
