Position Overview:

As the Operations Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimising all aspects of our clients food manufacturing operations. You will play a pivotal role in achieving operational excellence, ensuring product quality, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This position reports directly to the CEO and offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our client's company.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership: Provide strategic direction and leadership to the manufacturing team, ensuring that production goals, quality standards, and safety protocols are consistently met or exceeded.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimisation, cost reduction, and efficiency enhancement. Implement lean manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Quality Assurance: Maintain strict adherence to quality control measures and regulatory compliance standards. Foster a culture of quality and safety throughout the organisation.

Resource Management: Manage budgets, allocate resources effectively, and oversee workforce planning to meet production demands.

Supplier and Vendor Relations: Collaborate with supply chain and procurement teams to manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure a steady flow of raw materials.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments such as R&D, sales, and marketing to align production with market demand and product development efforts.

Performance Monitoring: Develop KPIs and performance metrics to monitor and measure operational effectiveness. Take corrective actions as needed to achieve key objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of at least 10 years in food manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, quality control standards, and production processes.
  • Experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Financial acumen, budget management experience, and cost control expertise.
  • Ability to drive change, adapt to evolving industry trends, and foster innovation.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and manufacturing software is a plus.
