Location: Naas, Co. Kildare

Job Description:

My client is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Procurement Officer to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process from start to finish, ensuring that goods and services are acquired at the best possible price, in a timely manner, and in compliance with company policies and procedures.

This position is Monday - Friday on a fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company goals and objectives.
  • Source, evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery time.
  • Negotiate contracts and prices with suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company.
  • Process purchase orders and track deliveries to ensure timely receipt of goods and services.
  • Maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including contracts, purchase orders, and invoices.
  • Review and approve payment requests from suppliers, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budget.
  • Monitor inventory levels and adjust procurement activities as needed.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely and accurate communication of procurement needs.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and continually look for opportunities to improve procurement processes and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, procurement, supply chain management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
