Project Engineer

My client is seeking a Project Engineer (contract) to manage and support capital and expense projects across Process, Utilities, and Automation/IT systems, from initiation through to closeout.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget, meeting scope, financial, and schedule targets.

• Ensure compliance with engineering standards, internal policies, and regulations.

• Collaborate with global teams in Engineering, EHS, and Procurement to align project goals.

• Support or lead project development: scope definition, cost estimation, and business case preparation.

• Manage project design, procurement, scheduling, execution, and closeout activities.

• Develop budgets, control spend, and track cash flow using SAP and financial tools.

• Identify and mitigate risks to minimize impact on cost, schedule, and operations.

• Coordinate commissioning and validation support for equipment and systems.

• Apply value engineering and seek innovative approaches to improve project outcomes.

• Lead cross-functional teams and external contractors to deliver effective solutions.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Degree in engineering.

• Minimum 3 years' project engineering/management experience in a pharmaceutical environment.

• Strong understanding of full project life cycle and stage-gate processes.

• Proven ability to lead diverse teams and manage stakeholders.

• Skilled in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).

• Financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and forecasting.

• Desirable: SAP proficiency, biologics manufacturing experience, and familiarity with validation processes.
