Quality Assurance Technician - FMCG Manufacturing (Waterford) - 6 months contract
An established Irish FMCG manufacturer with over 100 years' experience is seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to join its team in Waterford. The company operates a flexible plant, supporting both premium small-batch products and large-scale production for well known brands.

The Role
As QA Technician, you will play a hands-on role in ensuring compliance with quality and food safety standards across the site. Working closely with production, maintenance, and external stakeholders, you will support audits, manage non-conformances, and help maintain certification to BRC Version 9.
Key Responsibilities
Support maintenance of Quality Systems to BRC Version 9 standard and site certification
Assist with external audits and site visits from certification bodies, regulators, and customers
Manage NCRs, investigate customer complaints, and ensure corrective actions are implemented
Issue COAs, warrants, and customs paperwork on dispatches
Work with production and maintenance teams on line issues
Manage pest control audits and liaise with contractors
Conduct internal audits, GMP checks, and trace/mock recall exercises
Maintain micro and chemical sampling, reconciliation of spirit intakes, and customer database updates
Contribute to KPI reporting, quality performance trending, and consumables ordering
Provide QC and lab support as needed
About You
Degree in Food Science or a related discipline
2+ years' experience in a QA/food manufacturing role
BRC and HACCP knowledge desirable
Excellent attention to detail with strong organisational and problem-solving skills
Confident communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally and on your own initiative
Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
