Technical and NPD Officer

My client, a leading food manufacturing business, is looking for a Technical and NPD Officer for their brand-new site in Co. Laois who will manage the day-to-day technical and quality processes to ensure products are produced to the required standards and that new products are completed in accordance with company and customer specifications.

​

This is a permanent (full-time) job based in Co. Laois.

​

​

What will you do in this job?

​

• You will understand and manage the implementation and monitoring of regulatory, third party (Bord Bia, BRC) and other customer standards on site.

​

• You will understand and manage the implementation and monitoring of the FSMS and QMS.

​

• You will understand and assist in the management of the site's traceability program, ensuring that customer traceability requests are responded to adequately and within appropriate timeframe.

​

• You will manage the customer specifications via customer databases.

​

• You will coordinate the investigation, analysis and response to customer complaints liaising with sales, commercial and production teams as required to ensure effective corrective and preventative actions.

​

• You will implement the audit management process for customer, regulatory and accreditation audits.

​

• You will coordinate NPD prep tasks required through Launch Path.

​

• You will transfer kitchen recipes into the factory.

​

• You will be responsible for raw material spec checks & data capture to ensure correct raw materials are identified.

​

• You will be responsible for running preproduction trials, ensuring all relevant parties are in attendance, reports are completed, and results circulated.

​

What do you need to be successful in this job?

​

• You hold a 3rd level qualification in Food Science or relevant discipline.

​

• You have 1-2 years of experience in Quality/Technical or NPD roles in food manufacturing.

​

• You have strong communication, problem solving and decision-making skills.
