Engineering Manager - Manufacturing Site

This role is taking full responsibility for the Engineering function for this manufacturing site. The operation is part of a large network of manufacturing operation, all of which have the support of a Group Engineering function. The role will be responsible for rolling out all Preventative maintenance schedules and all unplanned maintenance that is needed for the site

The role reports directly into the General Manager for the site, and has responsibility for a team of Engineers and Technicians, so people management experience is very important for the role.

The role will require a person to be available to be on call from time-to-time for any emergencies that may arise

Responsibilities:

• Day to day management of the Engineering Function in order to maintain production for the site
• Develop and implement Preventative Maintenance schedules for the site
• Coordinate the resources of the Engineering function so that all areas of the operation have cover for unplanned maintenance needs
• Responsible for operating under a very high level of Health and Safety onsite
• Develop and roll out Staff Development plans for the team under the roles remit
• Grow the team when necessary, recruit for new hire and deliver training
• Budget ownership of the Engineering department
• Perform all Engineering and Maintenance Audits as needed
• Report to senior Management when necessary
• Responsible for all inventory and stock management for the Engineering function
• Monitor the Energy usage on site to see if efficiencies can be made

Key Experience and Qualifications

• A qualification in Electrical/Mechanical discipline is a distinct advantage
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role is preferred
• Experience in a Maintenance role on a Manufacturing site is essential
• Strong leadership is required
