Environmental Scientist We are hiring an Environmental Scientist to work with the Project Management team on various projects related to oil spills, contaminated land, and remediation services.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, progression routes to project manager. working for a long- standing environmental services consultancy.

2 days site work 1 to 2 days office work, 1 to 2 days WFH. (office based in Wicklow). Must be open to travelling around leinster for site works.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Developing technical proposals for ground investigations and oil spill remediation projects.
  • Scoping, preparing and delivering the technical aspects of contaminated land assessment projects, as part of the overall project team
  • Liaising with clients
  • Coordinating and mentoring technical field service teams in ground investigations, oil spill response actions, monitoring and remediation techniques
  • Preparation and peer review of technical reports
  • Soil waste classification exercises
  • Reviewing and analysing of a variety of data to determine requirements to meet the environmental and/or engineering objectives of remediation programmes.
  • Liaising with clients, regulators, and other individuals outside the company, as required.
  • Calculating and determining the feasibility and progress of project remediation programmes based on analysis of collected data.
  • Preparing or directing the preparation and modification of contaminated land assessment reports, remedial options appraisal, remedial options selection, remedial programmes specifications, plans, and designs for project.
  • Responsible for acting independently on technical matters pertaining to environmental aspects and remediation.
  • Utilising experienced professional judgment to research and analyse data.
  • Directing and undertaking soil testing, groundwater monitoring and sampling, air quality monitoring and testing and any other related sampling.
  • Providing basic mentoring, reference, oversight, and supervision for less experienced scientists.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years experience in a relevant role
  • Relevant degree education
  • Organised individual
  • Strong communication skills
  • IT skills MS office etc
  • Open to tracel across different sites in Leinster
  • Full clean driver's license.
