Job Title: Maintenance Technician (Electrical)
Location: Portlaoise, Co. Laois
Employment Type: Full-time, On-site
Company Overview
Our client is a multinational manufacturing organisation with a strong reputation for quality and operational excellence. They are now seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join their team in Portlaoise.
Role Overview
The Electrical Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems and equipment within a manufacturing environment. This is a Monday-Friday role (8:00am-4:30pm) with the potential for shift work in the future.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out preventive and reactive maintenance on electrical equipment and systems
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimise downtime
- Support installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation
- Collaborate with the wider engineering and production teams to optimise equipment performance
Requirements
- QQI Level 6 Electrical Trade qualification (or equivalent)
- Minimum 4 years' electrical experience, with at least 2 years in a manufacturing environment
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with PLC-controlled systems is desirable
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
- Must be able to work fully on site in Portlaoise
